U Hagu je 11 jula 2026 godine održana centralna komemoracija genocida u. Srebrenici za Nizozemsku. Komemoraciju su organizovali Udruženje preživjelih genocida u Srebrenici i Ambasada Bosne i Hercegovine u Nizozemskoj.

Komemoraciji su prisustvovali, izmedju ostalih, zamjenica premijera i mininistrica odbrane Nizozemske gdji. Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, gradonacelnik Haga Jan van Zanen, predsjednica Medjunarodnog krivicnog suda gdja.

Tomoko Akane, predsjednica Medjunarodnog rezidualnog mehanizma za Krivicni sud za bivsu Jugoslaviju gdja. Graciela Gatti Santana, brojni ambasadori, kao i gradjani i prijatelji Bosne I Hercegovine.

U svom obraćanju, ambasador Šahović je naglasio značaj kontinuiranog sjećanja na genocid u Srebrenici, te upozorio na ponovno budjenje ekstremnih i radiklanih snaga koje negiraju genocid i glorificiraju ratne zločince i njihove zločine.

Ambasador Šahović podvukao da sječanje na genocid u Srebrenici nije samo naša obaveza prema žrtvama i njihovim porodicama, već i naša odgovornost prema našoj sopstvenoj budućnosti.

The main commemoration marking the 31st anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide in the Netherlands took place on 11 July 2026 in The Hague.

The commemoration was organized by the Association of Srebrenica Genocide Survivors and the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ceremony was attended, among others, by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of the Netherlands, Ms. Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius; the Mayor
of The Hague, Mr. Jan van Zanen; the President of the International Criminal Court, Judge Tomoko Akane; the President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, Judge Graciela Gatti Santana; ambassadors; and numerous citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Dutch and international friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In his address, Ambassador Šahović emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of the Srebrenica genocide and warned of the dangers posed by the resurgence of radical and extremist forces that deny the genocide and glorify war criminals and their crimes.

Ambassador Šahović stressed that remembering the Srebrenica genocide is not only our duty to the victims and their families, but also a responsibility toward future generations and the prevention of such atrocities from ever happening again.
